It wasn’t the most productive week, but considering it was a school holiday for Sukkot and Mid-Autumn Festival anything that I accomplished was a bonus. The current news cycle didn’t help with focus either. I did get out for a few hikes and to the beach so it was still a pretty good week.

  • Exchanged two more chapters with my critique partner of my MG Historical Fiction (Soviet).
  • Started [another] new work in progress (WIP). I happened to come across a tweet where someone asked how many WIP are too many. I would like to know the answer. This is the early stages of another historical fiction (early 1980s, US) very loosely based on a classic of American children’s literature and includes fragments from my lived experience. I plan to submit the first chapter along with a rough explanation of the concept to my critique group next week.
  • I hope to write up some reviews because I caught up on some reading at the beach: All of Me by Chris Baron, Color Me In by Natasha Diaz, and The Peacock Detectives by Carly Nugent. I loved each of these for different reasons. I also read the first half of Never Alone by Natan Sharansky and Gil Troy.
