Zhen Yu and the Snake is a Sydney Taylor Notable! I am thrilled. There were so many great books out these this year. Also, there were 2 books honored this year that celebrated the Chinese Jewish experience. Two New Years by Richard Ho, illustrated by Lynn Scurfield won the award. Double Happiness just in time for the Lunar New Year!
Working on Zhen Yu with Joni Sussman, from Kar-Ben Publishing/ Lerner Books, was a great experience. To add to the cause for celebration, Joni received the Sydney Taylor Body-of-Work Award this year too!
