It’s Day 26 of NaNoWriMo, and though I took the weekend off, my word count is 51,244. I won, or so they tell me.

My novel is not complete, and I’ve left the bits that are more difficult for me to write, the parts in the story where I need to get my character from Point A to Point B. If this was an endurance race, I was in the home stretch, and then someone moved the finish line. They also won’t tell me where the new finish line is.

When I do get there, I look forward to revisions. I know, strange. I like my protagonist even though she surprised me and fell in love and then went on a quest that I didn’t see coming. It happens.

With NaNoWriMo successfully behind me, I can say for sure that I’m going to develop better and more consistent writing habits for the future. Endurance events are exhausting but rewarding.
