It turns out traveling internationally alone with two children in a pandemic isn’t easy. We’ve made it to Israel after 3 private PCR tests in NYC before boarding, 3 PCR tests when landing, 2 private antibody tests in our AirbNb after arriving, and 1 PCR ‘home’ test (unvaccinated 8-year-old) on day 10 to get out of quarantine before day 14. We’re waiting for those results.
Again, writing has been slow (non-existent), but at night I’ve been editing. I completed my first round of edits with my agent on my MG. Admittedly this was much more nerve-racking than the query process when I didn’t feel like I had any expectations to measure up to. I also sent back edits on my picture book to my publisher and reviewed edits on a co-authored picture book that went back to my co-author’s agent.
In the week ahead, while waiting for everyone to get back to me, I hope to get back to my WIP, but I’m also hoping for long days on the beach (once we get back the negative PCR test and government approval) with the books that I brought along with me.
It’s also my birthday! Cake to be postponed until a later date (post-quarantine).
